2016 Spring Hill Pinot Noir: Black tea, cherry, juniper and hibiscus. And to your mouth: ripe plum and strawberry with equal measures of nutmeg, caraway seed, clove and vanilla.
2016 Roberts Road Pinot Noir: A fruit-driven wine with intense flavors. Pop the cork and you are greeted with persistent aromas of Bing cherries, Rainier cherries and strawberry jam. Another pass reveals cardamom, vanilla and orange peel. Strawberries, cranberries and pomegranate furnish a long mid-palate that feels plush and expansive on the tongue.
2017 Vivio Vineyard Syrah: Its black cherry color sets the stage. Your nose is greeted with ripe, almost jammy, cherry fruit and a whiff of cloves that resolves to cinnamon. Black olives are, at this point, just innuendo but one sip corroborates their presence. Mid-palate are currants and plums, a balance of fruit and spice in splendid tension. As the wine warms there are traces of bacon and rosemary and yes, a feeling of comfort too great for words.
